Georgia - I will always love you - you were my first. You beguiled me with your beautiful mountains, loving people and three forks river will always be a fav in my mental photo album.
We had our ups and downs. We had some fights - I fought you all the way up Springer Mountain and you fought me all the way down Blood mountain. But I learned to stop fighting you and accept you as you are and life got better.
With all of our challenges you showed me a part of myself that that I had long forgotten. It was just a glimpse. I can't describe it with words but it was warm and innocent and pure. It was gentle like a mother's true love. It has always been there but I covered it up with decades of pride and pain.
I don't know what it was that I saw yet. But I know who it is - it's the real me that I thought was covered and buried. But I know it's still there - still there to be uncovered. Georgia, you gave me a glimpse of the healing power of this trail.
But now another calls - Sweet Caroline! But, bye for now Georgia - you will always be on my mind.
What a beautiful send off to Georgia and who are you kidding....you're still 100% the Rob I love and have known for many years. Glad you are finding yourself though....life is TOUGH and takes chinks out of us along the way, making us unrecognizable sometimes to ourselves. Others see us though and help lead us back to a quiet peace. Mother Nature, she has always been my greatest ally.
Good morning Rob,
As you begin today’s journey remember this: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the presence of faith”. Keep the Faith brother.
This marks our first holiday apart since we started this journey. What a fitting post to remind us of how God puts us where we are meant to be and need to be. You are loved and you are missed. May you wake up to an amazing sunrise and be reminded that He is Risen and always with you.
Great job Rob. Proud of you. I know your looking forward to the beauty of Carolina as it’s comes to life in Spring. One step at a time.
Enjoy your wonderful Sunrise Service amidst God’s wonderful creation! Should be a wonderful day for it. Happy Easter to you on Sunday! He is Risen!
